A former northern Saskatchewan MP is throwing her support behind this year’s NDP hopeful.
Georgina Jolibois believes Harmonie King will give a “strong voice” to communities in the north.
“People in Denesthé-Missinippi-Churchill River, have been missing real leadership over the past two years,” said Jolibois. “Along with Jagmeet Singh, I know Harmonie will actually listen to people in our community and fight to get them the supports they need, when they need it.”
Harmonie King is running in the Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River riding in this year’s federal election for the NDP.
Jolibois won the riding for the NDP in 2015 before losing the seat to Conservative Gary Vidal in 2019.
King is running against Vidal and Liberal candidate Buckley Belanger in next week’s election.
“We have a lot of work to do to build back our economy once this is all over. I will always make sure that the voices of everyone, especially those who often go unnoticed, are heard.” King said in a media release about Jolibois’ endorsement.
A debate between the MP hopefuls for the northern riding will be taking place on MBC on Friday between 1pm and 3pm.
