Assembly of First Nations Chief Phil Fontaine says a study being released today proves aboriginals are Canada’s “untapped resource.”

The study says Canada stands to lose billions of dollars over the next decade because almost one in two aboriginal youths don’t finish high school.

But Fontaine says that won’t change unless living conditions on reserves improves.

Today’s study says only 52% of Canada’s aboriginals earned their high school diploma compared to 70% of non-aboriginals.
