As winter approaches the Saskatoon Indian and Metis Frienship Centre is putting out a call for donations of winter clothing.
Melissa Parkyn, Resolution House Support Worker with the friendship centre, says they want to make sure they have a good supply of warm clothes before winter comes.
“We want to make sure we are keeping our clients warm and make sure they are making it through the coldest days of the year,” said Parkyn. “Because you never know when the snow comes…it could be tomorrow.”
The SIMFC does this type of donation call before every winter and Parkyn believes it has been vital in making sure they have enough warm clothes for the season.
“Our hope is to support our homeless people the best way we can and to let Saskatoon and the surrounding area know that if you need a jacket the Saskatoon Indian and Metis Friendship Centre will have donations for you,” said Parkyn.
Parky adds that all donations are welcome.
Donations can be dropped off at the friendship centre in Saskatoon anytime from 8:30 to 4:30 between Monday and Friday.
