While it may be Christmas, it’s not a festive time of year for everyone. That’s why the FSIN and Saskatoon Food Bank are holding the Chief Lawrence Joseph First Annual Nehiyaw Christmas Gala tomorrow evening at the Dakota Dunes Casino.
Joseph wants to raise money because he says a lot of Aboriginal people use the food bank.
Joseph will perform at the gala, along with Saskatoon City Councillor Bob Pringle, and Voices of the North.
Tables are $1600 each. Joseph estimates they’ve already raised $50,000 so far, with his goal being $100,000.
All proceeds will go to the food bank. Anyone interested in purchasing a table or donating money can call the FSIN or food bank.
