The La Ronge Provincial Court has a new judge.

The government of Saskatchewan announced the appointment of Dorinda Mae Stahl Friday.

Stahl was called to the bar in 2006 and since then has practiced family, civil and criminal law and has worked as a crown prosecutor.

While working as a Crown Prosecutor, Stahl dealt with cases related to drinking and driving, youth offences and domestic violence.

She instructed law at the University of Saskatchewan and prior to that, instructed at the First Nations University of Canada and in

USask’s Department of Indigenous Studies.

Stahl was also on a team who upgraded Saskatchewan’s legal education program for articling students.
