Beatty Approached To Run Prior To Election

Cumberland MLA Joan Beatty says she was approached to run for federal politics, before the provincial election even happened.

However, the northern MLA says she was convinced to stay and run for the riding due to her belief in Lorne Calvert and the NDP party.

It’s been 2 days since news broke that Beatty is considering running for either the Liberals or the NDP in an upcoming by-election.

She says she will consult family over the holidays before making any decisions.

Beatty adds her father’s opinion and his health will be at the forefront of any decision she makes.
