A company, who recently acquired uranium projects in the province’s far north, say they are establishing working relationships with northern communities as the permitting process has started.
Vancouver-based Pegasus Resources announced Wednesday morning the permitting for their uranium projects in the Athabasca Basin region are underway.
Pegasus acquired the properties in October and the areas include Wollaston Northeast, Bentley Lake, Mozzie Lake, and Pine Chamber.
The mineral company says working relationships are being established between local communities, First Nation groups, and the Ya’ thi Néné Lands and Resources office.
Once the permits are approved by the Ministry of Environment Pegasus says the first phase of work will involve surveying and analysis specifically in the Pine Chamber region.
The four uranium properties acquired are located mainly around the Black Lake and Wollaston Lake areas.
