A member of the Flying Dust First Nation has been honoured by one of the province’s major academic institutions.
18-year-old Deanna Kimbley of Beauval was recently selected as a winner of the Centennial Merit Scholarship at SIAST Woodland Campus in Prince Albert.
Kimbley, who is enrolled in the New Media section of the institution, says a strong upbringing and good family life helped contribute to her success.
Also honoured was Andrew Quibell of La Ronge, who received the Sasktel Scholarship for students in fields related to communications.
Both teenagers say the 3-thousand-dollar prizes attached to the awards will come in very handy.
