The chief of the Red Earth First Nation continues to press the government about a lack of pavement on the road out to his reserve.

Chief Miller Nawakayas says the long stretch of gravel on Highway 55 leads to long waiting times for ambulances whenever there is a medical emergency.

He also says the rough road takes it toll on band vehicles, as well.

The chief says the topic is one that the previous band council raised with the province years earlier.

He hopes it won’t take years more before the government takes action.
