The RCMP say a series of drug busts in Beauval recently are the result of community members “taking a stand”.
In the last 10 days, the Beauval RCMP detachment has charged a total of seven people in for three separate drug investigations.
On March 2nd, drug and weapons charged were laid against a 28-year-old man and 30-year-old woman after some weapons, cash and a small quantity of cocaine were found by police at a Beauval residence.
That same day, the Mounties arrested a 73-year-old man, a 21-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman after raiding a home in Beauval. The RCMP say they seized a large amount of cash, a large amount of marijuana joints and a firearm.
And last Thursday, the Mounties arrested and charged an 18-year-old woman from Ile-a-la-Crosse, a 22-year-old man from Ile-a-la-Crosse and a 24-year-old man from Beauval after a drug search at a Beauval apartment.
Constable Derek Wierzbicki says the Mounties couldn’t have carried out the raids without tips from the public.
Wierzbicki also says community members have been thanking him and other officers at the detachment for making the arrests.
