A public inquest into the death of a man at the Prince Albert Provincial Correctional Centre will take place later next month.
31-year-old Robert McAdam was found unresponsive in his cell om December 27, 2019.
Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful and he was transported to Victoria Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The inquest into his death will take place August 29 to September 2 and will be presided by Coroner William Davern.
A public inquest is called into any in-custody death where the Chief Coroner feels the death may have been preventable. It will be used to determine how McAdam died and what happened in the moments leading up to his death.
A jury will also be able to make recommendations to prevent similar deaths in the future.
