RCMP say the suspect in the mass stabbing on James Smith Cree Nation this past weekend has been taken into police custody and the dangerous persons alert has been cancelled.
Police issued an alert Wednesday afternoon that Sanderson was believed to be in the Wakaw area in a stolen vehicle.
Shortly before 4:00 p.m., Mounties say Sanderson was taken into police custody near Rosthern.
Sanderson faces numerous charges including several counts of first degree murder relating to multiple homicides on James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon from Sunday.
RCMP say they will provide more details as they become available.
