Charges Laid In Fatal Hit And Run

A 21-year-old man from the Standing Buffalo First Nation is facing charges of hit and run and impaired driving causing death.

 

Dustin Larry Yuzicapi was arrested by the Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP following the death of 62-year-old William Francis Cheers.

 

Cheers was struck by a vehicle Monday night while walking alongside Highway 56 in the resort community of Fort San.

 

Cheers had “severe injuries” when he was found.

 

He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

 

Yuzicapi is making a court appearance today in Fort Qu’Appelle.
