Premier Brad Wall says he had a good discussion last week with his Alberta counterpart about the Garson Lake road project.
However, Wall gave few details about what commitments Ed Stelmach actually made at the Western Premiers’ Conference in Prince Albert.
Speaking to reporters, Stelmach said his government is working on the road — but the cost is significant.
He said a $30 million bridge has to be built on the Alberta side of the border before the road can happen.
Stelmach estimated the cost of the overall project at $125 million.
Stelmach also noted the commitment to build the road was made by his predecessor, Ralph Klein.
