Three people are facing a number of charges after a shooting in Beauval this past Saturday.

Beauval RCMP said late Saturday morning they were called to a home in the community and found a 20-year-old man who had been shot multiple times. The man was taken to hospital with what police called serious injuries.

RCMP said they were able to get video surveillance which showed that the suspects, a woman and two men were in a Chevrolet Equinox SUV. Police said they found the SUV later the same afternoon travelling towards Beauval on Highway 155. RCMP said they tried to pull the vehicle over, but the occupants refused and a chase began. While they were being pursued, police said the suspects threw a bag out of the car, which was later found to have guns inside it. Eventually police stopped the vehicle using a spike belt on the east side of Highway 903.

When the SUV was stopped the three suspects got out and ran into the woods. Beauval RCMP said they called in support from a number of detachments along with the Saskatoon Police Service, which provided air support. The three suspects were eventually found late Sunday morning and taken in to custody.

26-year-old Clayton Ahenakew and 27-year-old Prosper Gardiner, both of Île-à-la-Crosse along with 26-year-old Jaylena Lafleaur of Meadow Lake are facing over 10 charges each including attempted murder and various firearms related offences.

All three were set to make appearances in Meadow Lake Provincial Court Monday.

RCMP said their investigation is continuing.
