Battlefords RCMP said the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) will be investigating after an incident this past weekend.
In a media release Battlefords RCMP said one of their officers tried to pull over a vehicle on a grid road on the Moosomin First Nation early Saturday morning. Police said the driver did not pull over and the vehicle continued at what they said was a high rate of speed.
The pursuit ended when the vehicle went into a ditch. RCMP said paramedics and STARS Air Ambulance were called to the scene. There were four people who were inside the vehicle and all were taken to hospital with what police called serious injuries.
SIRT will be charged with investigating Battlefords RCMP’s interaction with the vehicle and the people who were inside.
