UPDATE:

Police say the suspect in Wednesday morning’s homicide has been arrested.

According to police, Shane Thomas was arrested without incident in the 300 block of Idylwyld Drive at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Saskatoon Police continue to look for a suspect in relation to a homicide investigation in Saskatoon.

Police say a 35-year-old man was injured in the city Wednesday morning. The man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Police have identified 24-year-old Shane Thomas as a suspect.

Thomas is described as Indigenous, 5’9”, 165 lbs, with a medium build and short black hair. Thomas also has several tattoos; the word “Noah” on his left forearm, a triangle on his lefr hand, ’19’ on his right shoulder, ’98’ on his left shoulder, and ‘TS’ on his left chest.

Police were unable to provide a photo of Thomas, but say surveillance video of him fleeing the scene is posted on the Saskatoon Police Service Facebook page.

At the request of family, the identity of the deceased is not being released at this time.

If Thomas is observed, police advise that he not be approached and to call Police immediately.

Earlier on Wednesday, two people were arrested near Beardys and Okemasis Cree Nation after fleeing the scene.
