Betty Nippi-Albright is seeking a second-term in Saskatchewan’s Legislature.
She won re-election nomination last night for the New Democrats in Saskatoon Centre.
“I am so excited to be seeking re-election. Saskatchewan needs a government that takes its duty to consult seriously, respects Indigenous people, and honours the treaties,” said Nippi-Albright. “From the so-called ‘Sask. First Act’, to their voting against enshrined Duty to Consult legislation, the Sask. Party has repeatedly shown they are not fit to be government.”
Nippi-Albright who is a Cree and Saulteaux won the 2020 election. She has advocated for legislation for Duty to Consult requirements and changes to how the province undertakes selling of Crown Lands.
She is the first NDP candidate to be nominated for the 2024 election.
