Jordan McPhail will represent the NDP in the 2024 general election. McPhail won the Cumberland nomination Saturday evening. He will replace long-time MLA Doyle Vermette, who has already announced he will not seek re-election.

“It is truly an honour to be succeeding my dear friend Doyle as the Saskatchewan NDP candidate here in Cumberland,” said McPhail.

McPhail, who is currently a Council member for the Village of La Ronge is of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

“Our northern communities have so much potential. Despite that, they have been abandoned by this government. The time is now to build a province that leaves no one behind, no matter where in this beautiful province that you live,” McPhail explained.

McPhail is the 13th candidate to be nominated for the New Democrats.
