Northlands College has announced the addition of a Dental therapy Clinic to their campus in La Ronge. The clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and is a major advancement in northern Saskatchewan’s dental education and healthcare provision.
The clinic offers a wide range of services which are delivered by dental therapy faculty and learners at the college.
“You can go and get an oral exam, there’s a whole list of services that our learners supervised by their faculty can support,” said Northlands College president and CEO, Karsten Henriksen. “You can go and get restorative dentistry done as well, so fillings and so forth.”
The clinic is equipped with the latest technology in X-ray and dental examination and is also the home of the only dental simulator in northern Canada. The clinic will not only address the need for dental services in Northern Saskatchewan but also provides hands-on experience for learners, preparing them for careers in dental therapy.
“If you have a filling that needs to be done, we can get you in, in a matter of days which is fantastic and the exciting part about this is you get to be a part of a journey of a learner,” explained Henriksen.
The Dental therapy Clinic is located at the Canoe Camus in La Ronge and is accepting patients. To book an appointment you can call 306-425-4666.
