Dwain Lingenfelter says expansion of the uranium sector would be a high priority for him if he is chosen to be the next leader of the provincial NDP.
Lingenfelter says economic development in northern Saskatchewan is a must for him, and it would be reflected in his policies if his bid to take over from Lorne Calvert is successful.
According to Lingenfelter, allowing northerners a percentage of the jobs, and ensuring that those jobs stayed in the north, “would be very important to me”.
He says construction of a nuclear processing facility in the province is also on his wish list.
Lingenfelter adds the area around La Loche should be considered.
