Charge Laid In Death Of Big River First Nation Man

A 22-year-old man arrested in connection to a suspicious death in Debden over the weekend has been charged with second-degree murder.

The unidentified suspect will be making his first court appearance on the charge tomorrow in Prince Albert.

The RCMP say a 25-year-old man from the Big River First Nation was killed in Debden at around 2:20 Saturday morning.

The victim’s name hasn’t been released.

In another incident this past weekend, a 19-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Pinehouse shortly after midnight on Saturday.

A 22-year-old man was taken into custody.
