Trial Date Set For Mother Of Wal-Mart Baby

A trial date has been set for a woman accused of abandoning her newborn baby in a Wal-Mart washroom in Prince Albert.

Lawyers for the Crown and April Dawn Halkett discussed the case yesterday.

Her trial is scheduled to start on May 4th.

The trial will be heard by judge alone, and is scheduled for one week at Court of Queen’s Bench in Prince Albert.

Halkett has pleaded not guilty to one count of child abandonment.
