Saskatchewan is getting a new human rights commissioner.
Judge David Arnot was appointed to the position today by Justice Minister Don Morgan.
Arnot is the former federal treaty commissioner for the province.
He sat in that role from December 1996 until being replaced by current treaty commissioner Bill McKnight this past June.
Morgan says he can’t think of a better person to advance the principles of equality and diversity in the province than Arnot.
The judge begins his new job on January 15th.
