Prince Albert RCMP are continuing to investigate a hit and run which happened nearly 6 months ago and took the life of a man.
Previously, Mounties did not release the victim’s name, but today it was announced that the victim was 31-year-old Ericson Bear of Red Earth Cree Nation.
Bear was struck by a vehicle on Highway #163 on the Cree Nation in the early hours of February 12.
The vehicle did not remain at the scene and Bear was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police hope that releasing Bear’s name will help further the investigation.
As part of the investigation, police officers with the Prince Albert General Investigation Section will be in the Red Earth Cree Nation community this week.
They encourage anyone with information about the incident to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
