A fire ban has been issued for the City of North Battleford.
The current Fire Weather Index issued by the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency for the region is considered “extreme”. Maps are updated daily on the SPSA website.
Any burning that occurs in the city or within city limits outside of an approved fire pit is considered illegal.
Use of external cooking devices, like barbecues and smokers, is still allowed.
The city stated that any fires or burns not in an approved fire pit should be reported to the North Battleford Fire Department.
