The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) is investigating the death of 22-year-old Darren Laviolette as a homicide after an autopsy that was completed on September 3, 2024.

PAPS responded with Parkland Ambulance to an unconscious and non-breathing male just before 9:00 a.m. on September 1, 2024, in the 1200 block of 28th Street east.

On arrival, the male was identified as Darren Laviolette and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The PAPS Criminal investigations Division and Forensic Identification Section is continuing to investigate.

The police are looking to speak with anyone who was with or spoke with Darren Laviolette between the night of Saturday August 31 and 3:00 a.m. Sunday September 1, or has information on where he was or who he was with.

Police are also asking anyone that heard or witnessed a disturbance in the area of 28th Street east and the 2800 block of Sherman Drive to contact them at 306-953-4222 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
