Today is day six of voting and so far there has been 56 hours of voting, which ends tonight at 8 p.m., as today is the last day for placing your vote in the 2024 Saskatchewan Provincial Election.

“It has been a busy week for our election workers, serving the 273,010 voters who cast a ballot during the first five days of voting, and collecting and processing the 20,417 vote by mail completed ballots that were returned to my office by October 26,” says Dr. Michael Boda, Chief Electoral Officer of Saskatchewan. “All 303 of our early voting locations have been open the past five days, and today we’ll add another 413 voting locations in rural constituencies to ensure no voter has to drive more than 30 minutes to their voting location.”

Any Canadian citizen who is at least 18 years-old by October 28, 2024, and a Saskatchewan resident is eligible to vote.

You must show two pieces of identification at voting locations that shows your name and address before you can receive a ballot.

Voters can find where to vote by entering their address at www.elections.sk.ca/wdiv.

All 716 voting locations across the province are open to serve voters from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today.

Voting is taking place today at 68 hospitals and/or remand centres in Saskatchewan.

All voting has already happened at the 369 personal care facilities before today.

Whether you voted early in the advanced polls, sent in a mail-in ballot, or went to the  polls today, there is a three step ballot count system that voters should be aware of.

The first preliminary count takes place today, October 28, 2024, and in these ballots include advance poll ballots from voting week, personal care facilities, and homebound ballots.

The second preliminary count will take place on October 30, 2024, and these ballots include mail ballots received by October 26, 2024.

The third and final count will take place on November 9, 2024, and this count includes mail ballots received between October 27 and November 7, 2024, and special ballots (hospital, remand, temporarily displaced).

Every ballot is filled out by hand and will therefore be counted by hand, there will be no electronic ballot counting machines.

The results of the election are not official until the final count is completed on November 9, 2024.
