Flying Dust First Nation has re-elected their chief.

In an election this past Friday, the membership of the First Nation voted to re-elect Tyson Bear to the leadership position.

Bear will serve in the role on a four-year term.

Joining Bear on the leadership team for the First Nation will be four councilors.

They are Marie Gladue, Calvin Bear, Charmaine Mirasty, Nick Derocher.

In a letter posted to social media, the newly elected leaders thanked their supporters and say the will move forward as a team.

“As Flying Dust First Nation continues to move ahead, we look forward to serving the membership and to continue to grow the Nation,” the letter read. “We come from a place of humbleness, with the attitude that we need to work together as a team, not just as leaders, but as family with all on and off reserve members.”

The Chief and Council will serve a four-year term.
