A man from Waterhen Lake First Nation is facing a second-degree murder charge after a man in hospital died this past weekend.
42-year-old Logan Lapratt was initially charged with attempted murder as RCMP allege he shot another man in the community on February 8.
The man was taken to hospital at that time with injuries described as serious. According to RCMP he would succumb to his injuries on February 13.
The RCMP announced they have upped the charge on Lapratt to second-degree murder.
42-year-old Derek Laras was also charged in the shooting and now faces a charge of manslaughter.
Both men are due in court in Meadow Lake on Tuesday.
