Saskatchewan Mounties had to act quickly to rescue a woman and her child from their vehicle which was nearly swept away by a fast-flowing river.
The 20-year-old woman called Kamsack RCMP yesterday from her vehicle, which had stalled as the woman attempted to cross the Keeseekoose River at a low-level crossing.
Police found the woman and her two-year-old trapped inside a van, with water flooding into the vehicle half-way up the driver’s door.
Mounties secured a line to the winch on the police truck, and an officer waded out into the river to rescue the mother and child.
