The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority says it’s determined to recoup $1.2 million that went missing from its coffers.

Yesterday, the company issued a news release saying it is continuing a lawsuit filed earlier this month against a number of individuals and corporations.

The decision comes in the wake of an apparent confession by a man who says he is responsible for the whole affair.

Alain Germain told the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix last week that he funnelled money away through his ATM company to cover his debts.

He also said he doubts any of the money will be recovered.

SIGA says it has reached agreements with Armand Pinel and Shelley Bear in relation to the situation, but the litigation against them will continue anyway.

Other parties named in the lawsuit include Peace Hills Trust and the Royal Bank.
