Juno Award winner Tom Jackson stopped off in Regina yesterday.
He was the keynote speaker at the Salvation Army’s Annual Red Shield Luncheon in Regina.
Jackson says his personal commitment to raising money for the less fortunate stems from his own experience living on the streets of Winnipeg, and this is what drives him to give back to the community.
He says the Salvation Army is a vehicle to help people find a better life.
Jackson says everyone is born with the instinct to give and help others.
“We’re born with love, and the only thing that changes between our birth and our being more mature is the things that have influenced us. We become a carbon copy of that. But we were born with the instinct to give,” he says.
Jackson is from the One Arrow First Nation.
