A northern man has pleaded guilty and been sentenced for unlawfully causing the death of another man.
Tyrell Lariviere will spend the next two years behind bars for his actions in March 2008.
RCMP responded to reports a man had been stabbed in the community of Pinehouse early in the morning.
A 19-year-old man was rushed to hospital, but died of his injuries.
Lariviere was initially charged with first-degree murder, but ended up pleading guilty to manslaughter.
A judge gave him two years credit for the one year in jail he has already served.
In addition to the two-year sentence, Lariviere has also been sentenced to three more years on probation after completing his sentence.
The name of the victim was withheld, at the request of the family.
