P.A. Festival Will Go On: Organizers

The director of the Prince Albert Winter Festival confirms the event is a go.
Jennifer Smith says there had been some serious questions about whether this year’s festival would get off the ground, due to financial concerns.
But, she says, new support has been found, and organizers have begun the search for volunteers.
Smith says the loss of the festival would have been a tragedy for Prince Albert.
“Our heritage, the history behind it — everything would have been lost. It’s hard to get back 45 years,” she says.
Smith says those who attend the 46th annual festival can expect to see a lot of different events, including cross-country ski races, a beard-growing competition and the Voices of the North talent show.
It all begins on Feb. 17.
