The lawyer for the fired president of the First Nations University of Canada says the right to arbitration is in his client’s contract.

Tim Stodolka is the lawyer for Charles Pratt, who was fired on March 19th.

According to Stodolka, “. . . we have a situation where we are relying on the contract Charles Pratt has with the First Nations University of Canada”.

Stodolka says the contract stipulates that in any matters of dispute between Pratt and the university, either party has the right to have the matter resolved by arbitration.

The FNUC board announced yesterday the appointment of an interim president, Dr. Shauneen Pete.
