La Ronge Fire Holds Openhouse, Needs Firefighters

The La Ronge Fire Department is holding an open house Saturday for anyone interested in becoming an on-call or volunteer firefighter.

Chief of the department, Ron Pratt, explains they’re having trouble keeping a full compliment of personnel right now.

He says they want to top things up before fire season begins.

Pratt adds they need 25 on-call firefighters at any given time but right now only have about 18.

The open house begins at 1:00 Satruday afternoon at the new fire hall.
