A suspect in some recent gang-related violence in Manitoba who was thought to be evading authorities in Saskatoon has been arrested near The Pas.

Twenty-three-year-old Franklin Cook was considered armed and dangerous prior to being taken into custody without incident last night at a residence on the Opaskwayak Cree Nation.

Cook is one of two men charged with attempted murder following an incident on April 4th at a reserve apartment complex.

RCMP say two men burst into the apartment uninvited and fired several shots at another male, who managed to escape without being hurt.

The second suspect, a 21-year-old man, had previously been taken into custody.
