The minister of First Nations and Metis Relations says Saskatchewan is receiving praise for its ability to solve cases involving murdered and missing aboriginal women.
Bill Hutchinson says during a meeting in Toronto this week, a delegate from the group Sisters in Spirit, told him she was impressed with our province’s ability to bring perpetrators to justice.
Hutchinson says he’s received information our province has a 78 percent success rate at bringing perpetrators to justice.
He says that compares to a rate of 42 percent in Alberta, 48 percent in B.C. and 50 percent in Manitoba.
Hutchinson says he told the woman the government would be prepared to sit down and share whatever information they could.
