Roads and culverts that were damaged by heavy rainfall in two northern Saskatchewan communities in the summer of 2005 will be restored with the help of the federal and provincial governments.
In July of that year, a large of the province’s north already saturated with snowmelt received heavy rainfall, resulting in damage that disrupted services to Stony Rapids and Black Lake.
More than 150 people were stranded for several days.
Initial estimates indicate the flood caused $3.2 million in damages.
The Department of Public Safety says the federal share of that will be determined by guidelines in the Disaster Financial Assistance Arrangements.
