Aboriginal Court Circuit Judge Reinstated

Meadow Lake Provincial Court Judge Donald Bird could be back sitting on the bench as early as Monday, now that his suspension has been lifted.
The Saskatchewan Judicial Court Council made that announcement this morning.
Bird was suspended last year after he was charged with two counts of assault and two counts of uttering threats.
The charges were related to a domestic dispute which occurred back in May, 2008.
That case was dismissed this past February when the complainants refused to testify.
The judicial council reviewed Bird’s case this week — but ruled there was no reasonable prospect of finding him guilty of misconduct, so the suspension was lifted.
