Body of Missing Teen Found On Northern Lake

RCMP in Deschambault Lake report that the body of one of the missing boaters from that community was found earlier today.

 

The victim is a 19-year-old man from the community.

 

He was found in the water by a local member of the community search team.

 

The victim’s immediate family has been notified, but his name hasn’t been released.

 

The search continues for the second missing boater — a 16-year-old male also from the community.

 

They were in a boat that capsized near Clarke Point on Ballantyne Bay Sunday evening. Five others in the boat survived after being found by a passing boater.

 

The RCMP’s underwater recovery team is on site.

 

Community members have also summoned a search team from outside the community.
