More doubt seems to be falling over some proposed legislation for drinking water on reserves.
The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations is now the second group to criticize the government’s plan to impose standards on First Nations.
Vice-chief Lyle Whitefish says Bill S-11 places too much responsibility on individual bands to live up to the guidelines without giving them any real money to do so.
Whitefish also says First Nations weren’t consulted enough over the bill which was introduced in parliament last week.
According to the FSIN, there are 14 boil water advisories on 12 Saskatchewan First Nations.
