A Sweetgrass First Nation woman has been sentenced to six months in jail for her part in an incident involving a machete.
Raquel Shelly Favel was also given another four-month sentence for a driving over .08 charge.
But prosecutor Nicole Leinenweber says it appears she was sentenced twice on that charge, so an application will be made to wipe it out.
Assuming that’s successful, Favel will only have to serve six months for assault with a weapon.
She was also sentenced for several breaches of recognizance, but they are to be served concurrent to the assault charge.
The charges stem from an incident September 1st on the Sweetgrass reserve.
Court was told Favel threatened a man with harm, then got her boyfriend and some friends to come over and emphasize those theats.
Leinenweber says there was a confrontation, but no one was injured.
