Proceeds from a Red Cross humanitarian gala will be going towards programming in First Nations and Metis communities in Saskatchewan.
Amanda Ulrich is with the Canadian Red Cross.
She says funds will go towards outreach programs that focus on preventing injury and illness, preparing and responding to disasters like forest fires or flooding, or preventing bullying, abuse and harassment.
Ulrich says her organization has been really trying to expand to the province’s Aboriginal communities to make residents more aware of what is available to them.
The gala will be September 9th in Regina and will honour two humanitarians.
