The interim president of the First Nations University of Canada says the school has a vision that must not be forgotten.
Dr. Shauneen Pete told chiefs at the FSIN assembly in Regina yesterday that even though they must restructure, the university must maintain the cultural programs that make it unique.
Pete also encouraged the chiefs to send their students to the school, adding that tuition dollars can help the university in spite of a nearly $3-million deficit.
The assembly passed the First Nations University Act that continues to depoliticize the school’s board.
