The chief of the Sturgeon lake First nation is calling for answers in the wake of the death of a young band member.

Last week a 22 month-old boy was rushed to hospital from a house in Aberdeen but was pronounced dead.

Chief Wesley Daniels says the boy was a member of the Sturgeon Lake band and there are questions over how he died.

However the chief says this is not the only boy from their community to recently die in provincial foster care.

He says back on December 10th another 2 year-old boy died who was staying at a home in Saskatoon.

Daniels is calling for inquiries into both deaths.

Daniels says the two boys were cousins.

The chief says his band has asked for information from the ministry of social services but so far have been given few answers.
