Close Call At Montreal River Bridge

A businesswoman in the La Ronge area says she’s just glad she was in the right place at the right time.

However, Cosette Fafard doesn’t consider herself a hero, even after saving a young girl in the Montreal River on Friday.

The owner of the Riverside Motel was working when she heard two girls screaming for help.

When she got outside, she saw the two girls being carried away from the shoreline by the current.

One of them got back to shore, but the other one was flailing helplessly.

Fafard managed to swim out to the youngster and get her back to shore.

She says she made sure they were both OK, before letting them leave.

Fafard says she’s just glad everyone made it out alive.
