Proposed Gold Mine Near La Ronge Gets DFO Approval

The federal government has signed off on a development request for a gold mine north of La Ronge.

According to a news release from Golden Band Resources, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans has approved an environmental screening report for the Jolu Mill Mallard tailings facility.

The mill is located near the Bingo gold mine.

The company can now proceed to the regulatory approval stage of having the Mallard site classified as a tailings impoundment area.

The company anticipates that process will be complete by next February.
