Saskatchewan is leading the way in this year’s survey of Aboriginal governance across the Prairies.
According to a ranking from the Frontier Centre for Public Policy, the Ochapowace First Nation topped the survey with a rating of 77.2 percent.
The band was ranked on things like its administration, elections, human rights, transparency and economy.
The think tank travelled to Ochapawace and other reserves to ask residents what they thought about the governance process of the community they live in.
Coming in second was the Muscowpetung First Nation, which recorded a score of 77.
A band from Alberta was third while the Saulteaux First Nation finished fourth with a score of 72.6.
A total of 42 First Nations from Saskatchewan took part, while 21 participated from Manitoba and 15 from Alberta.
